The Aussie Millions is the largest tournament being held in the southern hemisphere of the world (Australia). Indeed, the northern part of the world is being shared between several poker giants like WPT, EPT and WSOP.
Interesting to know that the Aussie Millions is one of the oldest poker tours that appeared even before the World Poker Tour or the European Poker Tour. For American players this tournament is an important date on the calendar. Thus, in 2008 the Aussie Millions offered a prize pool exceeding the $7,000,000 AUS (Australian dollars) including the prize of $1,650,000 AUS for the winner.
The official name of the tournament is "The Australian Poker Championship" and it takes place annually in the beginning of the year in the Crown Casino of Melbourne, Australia.
